Foredragsholdere

Janne Haaland Matlary er professor i internasjonal politikk ved Universitetet i Oslo og en av Norges fremste eksperter på sikkerhets- og forsvarspolitikk. Hun har bred erfaring fra både akademia og myndigheter, blant annet som statssekretær i Utenriksdepartementet i Bondevik regjeringen og som medlem av flere nasjonale og internasjonale sikkerhets- og forsvarspolitiske utvalg.

Matlary har vært tilknyttet Forsvarets høgskole siden 2009 og har hatt sentrale roller i en rekke offentlige kommisjoner, inkludert ekspertutvalget for sikkerhets- og forsvarspolitikk og Forsvarspolitisk utvalg. Hun har også vært rådgiver for regjeringer og internasjonale organisasjoner, og har omfattende erfaring knyttet til NATO, EU og internasjonale sikkerhetsprosesser.

Hun er dr.philos. i statsvitenskap og har publisert en lang rekke bøker og artikler om internasjonal politikk, strategisk kommunikasjon, krisehåndtering og sivilt–militært samarbeid. Matlary er dekorert både i Norge og internasjonalt, og er en ettertraktet foredragsholder innen sikkerhet og beredskap.

Anniken Krutnes har bred erfaring fra utenrikstjenesten, og har blant annet tjenestegjort som Norges ambassadør i Washington og i Haag.  Hun har vært spesialrådgiver for Arktis og Antarktis, og norsk representant i Arktisk Råd. Krutnes er utdannet siviløkonom fra NHH og jurist fra Universitetet i Oslo. I sitt nåværende arbeid i Utenriksdepartementet fokuserer hun på sikkerhetspolitikk, særlig hybride trusler. 

Anniken Krutnes has extensive experience from the Foreign Service and has, among other roles, served as Norway’s Ambassador to Washington and to The Hague. She has also been Special Adviser for Arctic and Antarctic affairs, as well as Norway’s representative to the Arctic Council. Krutnes holds degrees in business administration and law. In her current role at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she focuses on security policy, particularly hybrid threats.

Ambassadør Korhonen er ambassadør for Planleggingsavdelingen i Utenriksministeriet i Helsinki. Han er også styreformann i Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA), styremedlem i Atlantic Council of Finland og medlem av European Leadership Network (ELN). 

Han var Finlands ambassadør til NATO 2019-2023, og, etter Finlands medlemskap i Allianse, den første finske faste representant til NATO 4. april-31. august 2023.

Han var ambassadør for rustningskontroll i utenriksministeriet 2013-2017 og president for den 3. konferansen til ATT (Arms Trade Treaty) 2016-2017.

Ambassadør Korhonen ledet Finlands delegasjon til 2015 Review Conference til den Kjernefysiske Ikkespredningsavtalen (NPT), og hadde ledende roller i forhandlingene om det globale initiativ for å forhindre kjernefysisk terrorisme (GICNT) i Helsinki 2015 og i forberedelsene til de Kjernefysiske toppmøter i Haag i 2014 og i Washington 2016.

Ambassadør Korhonen var ambassadør til Nederland og fast representant til organisasjonen for forbud mot kjemiske våpen (OPCW) 2009-2013. 

Han var avdelingsdirektør i utenriksministeriet for Russland, Øst-Europa og Sentral-Asia 2006-2009, direktør for Planlegging og Forskning 2001-2004 og har tidl. tjenestegjort i avd. for sikkerhetspolitikk og NATO. Han tjenestegjorde i 1991-1992 og 1993-1996 ved Finlands delegasjon i Genève og i 1988-1991 ved den finske ambassaden i Moskva. Han ble tatt opp i utenrikstjenesten i 1987. 

Ambassadør Korhonen har mastergrad i statsvitenskap fra Universitetet i Helsinki 1986, og har vært hovedlærer på den finske Forsvarshøyskolen 2002-2003 og 2018-2019.

Ambassadør Korhonen, f. 3.05.1961 i Helsinki, er gift, har tre barn og ett barnebarn og bor i  Helsinki. 

Mr Korhonen is currently Ambassador for Policy Planning at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA). He is also Chairman of the Executive Board of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA), Board Member of the Atlantic Council of Finland and member of the European Leadership Network (ELN). 

He was Ambassador of Finland to NATO 2019-2023 and, after Finland’s accession to the Alliance, first Finnish Permanent Representative 4 April-31 August 2023.

He served as Ambassador for Arms Control at the MFA 2013-2017.

He was President of the international Arms Trade Treaty 2016-2017 (ATT Third Conference of States Parties).

Ambassador Korhonen was Head of Finnish Delegation to the 2015 Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT). He was Chairman of the Plenary of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT) in Helsinki 2015 and served as Finland’s Sherpa to the Nuclear Security Summits in The Hague 2014 and in Washington 2016.

Mr. Korhonen was Ambassador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) from 2009 to 2013. In The Hague he led negotiations on the 2012 Budget of the International Criminal Court (ICC) as Facilitator of the Assembly of State Parties.

He was Deputy Director-General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, MFA, 2006-2009, Director and Head of Unit for Policy Planning and Research 2001-2004, MFA, and in 2005 Visiting Research Fellow with Helsinki University Network for European Studies. From 1996 to 2000 Mr. Korhonen worked as Senior Desk Officer for Security Policy and NATO affairs, MFA. 

In 1991-1992 and 1993-1996 he served with the Permanent Mission of Finland to International Organisations in Geneva heading the Human Rights Section. In 1992-1993 he attended the International Training Course on Security Policy and Arms Control at the Graduate Institute of International Studies of Geneva. In 1988-1991 he was posted to the Finnish Embassy in Moscow. He joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1987. 

Ambassador Korhonen holds MSc from Helsinki University 1986. He has been Chief Instructor at the Finnish National Defence Courses 2002-2003 and 2018-2019.

He was born in Helsinki on 3 May 1961. Ambassador Korhonen lives in Helsinki. He is married and has three children and one grandchild.

Piia Mathisen er Estlands ambassadør i Norge.

Før hun tiltrådte sin post i Oslo, arbeidet Piia Mathisen (født 1983) i kabinettet til presidenten for Det europeiske råd. Tidligere har hun blant annet vært rådgiver ved Estlands faste representasjon til EU, leder for avdelingen for felles utenriks- og sikkerhetspolitikk i Utenriksdepartementet, nestleder ved ambassaden i Ankara og saksbehandler i EU-avdelingen.

Ambassadør Mathisen har en bachelorgrad i fransk fra Universitetet i Tartu og en mastergrad i europeisk politikk fra University of Sussex.

Piia Mathisen is the ambassador of Estonia in Norway.

Before taking up her post in Oslo, Piia Mathisen (born 1983) worked in the cabinet of the President of the European Council. Her previous posts include counsellor in the Estonian Permanent Representation to the EU, head of CFSP division in the Foreign ministry, deputy head of mission in Ankara and desk officer in the EU department. 

Ambassador Mathisen has a BA degree in French from the University of Tartu and a MA in European politics from the University of Sussex.

Hedda Langemyr er grunnlegger av UTSYN – Senter for sikkerhet og beredskap. Hun har bred bakgrunn fra norsk forsvars- og sikkerhetspolitikk, og har over mange år arbeidet med problemstillinger knyttet til nasjonal sikkerhet, totalforsvar og strategisk beredskap. Langemyr har inngående kunnskap om norsk sikkerhetspolitikk og forsvar, samt lang erfaring med strategisk kommunikasjon og informasjonsformidling.

Hennes spesialfelt er nordområdene og arktisk sikkerhet, inkludert stormaktsrivalisering, hybride trusler og kognitiv krigføring. Hun deltar aktivt i den norske samfunnsdebatten og har skrevet en rekke artikler og kronikker om forsvars- og sikkerhetspolitiske spørsmål i norske aviser.

Langemyr har vært styreleder ved Nansenskolen – Norsk humanistisk akademi, og er i dag leder for nettverket for samfunnssikkerhet og totalforsvar i Polyteknisk Forening.

Hun har utdanningsbakgrunn i internasjonale studier fra Universitetet i Oslo og i sammenlignende politikk fra Universitetet i Bergen.

Hedda Langemyr is the founder of UTSYN – Сentre for Security and Resilience. 

She has a broad background from Norwegian civil society organisations focusing on human rights, conflict resolution and security. Langemyr has extensive knowledge about Norwegian security policy and many years' worth of experience with communications and information distribution. 

Her speciality is the High North and Arctic Security, also including hybrid threats and cognitive warfare. 

She is an active part of the Norwegian public debate and has written multiple articles and op-eds in Norwegian newspapers. 

Langemyr has also been the chairman of the board at The Nansen Humanistic Academy and is currently the leader of the network for social security and total defence at Polyteknisk Forening. 

Her educational background is from international studies at The University of Oslo and from Comparative Politics from the University of Bergen.

Erling Stausland bor i Kristiansand og er utdannet siviløkonom og har sitt daglige virke i Color Line. 

Han har vært formann i Kristiansand Militære Samfunn og i Kristiansand Forsvarsforening i 20 år og har engasjert seg sterkt i Forsvarssaken og i sikkerhetspolitikk og beredskap. Han er også medlem av Distriktsrådet for HV07.

Gjennom Kristiansand Militære Samfunn arrangerer han 5-8 foredragsaftener i året med ulike, aktuelle foredragsholdere som går på aktuelle forsvarsrelaterte temaer.

Erling Stausland lives in Kristiansand and is a graduate economist. He works daily at Color Line. 

He has been chairman of the Kristiansand Military Society and the Kristiansand Defense Association for 20 years and has been strongly engaged in defense issues, security policy, and emergency preparedness. He is also a member of the HV07 District Council.

Through the Kristiansand Military Society, he organizes 5-8 lecture evenings per year with various relevant speakers covering current defense-related topics.

Major General Frode Ommundsen assumed duties as Commander Norwegian Home Guard 12 June 2023. As an integral part of the position, MG Ommundsen has the territorial responsibility for parts Norway and commands 40 000 reservists and 500 active duty soldiers.

MG Frode Ommundsen started his service in the army in 1986 and was in 1991 commissioned as a cavalry officer. The following years he spent as a company grade officer at the platoon, company, and battalion staff level, serving in northern Norway with two deployments to Bosnia (UNPROFOR, IFOR).
Ommundsen graduated from the Military Academy advanced course in 1999 taking command of a mechanized company including a deployment to Kosovo (KFOR) in 2000. In 2002, he was promoted to major and was assigned to establish and take command of a mechanized company in the new high readiness battalion. The billet included deploying to Afghanistan (ISAF) providing security for the Constitutional Loya Jirga in 2003.

Ommundsen was promoted LTC in 2007, taking command of the Armour battalion, and deploying with parts of the battalion as an operational mentoring and liaison team (OMLT) in Afghanistan (ISAF) in 2010. Following this assignment Ommundsen served as the Army's lnfantry and Cavalry branch inspector as Colonel before assuming the position as Chief Operations Branch at the Defence Staff. Prior to taking command of the Home Guard, he served five years as Deputy Commander/Chief of staff of the Norwegian Army, at the rank of Brigadier General.

MG Ommundsen is a graduate of the Norwegian Military Academy in (1991), the Swedish National Defence University (2006), School of Advanced Warfighting, United States Marine Corps, Quantico (2012), NATO Defence College, Rome (2016) and Royal College of Defence Studies/Kings College, London (2020).

Tord Lindelid tiltrådte som sjef for Agder heimevernsdistrikt i mars 2025.

Lindelid har en lang karriere fra Hæren. Han er utdannet ved Krigsskolen og Stabsskolen med påfølgende tjeneste ved Hærens manøverbataljoner, Hærens våpenskole og Hærstaben, samt utenlandsoperasjoner på Balkan og i Afghanistan. 

Tord har også arbeidet hos Statsforvalteren i Agder og i Nasjonal kommunikasjonsmyndighet (Nkom), hvor han har jobbet med totalforsvar, planverk og beredskap.

Tord Lindelid started as district commander for Agder Home Guard District in March 2025.

Lindelid has a long military career in the Army. He is a graduate of the Norwegian Military Academy and the Norwegian Defense University College with subsequent service in different maneuver battalions, the Army Warfare Center and the Army Staff. In addition, he has several tours in the Balkans and Afghanistan.

Tord has also worked in the Emergency Preparedness Staff at the County Governor of Agder and the Norwegian Communications Authority, where he had the responsibility for Total Defense planning.

Knut Berg har bred og variert bakgrunn fra Forsvaret, der han blant annet har gjennomført Stabsskole I og II samt Sjefskurset ved Forsvarets høgskole. I 2000 avsluttet han sin militære karriere og gikk over til helsesektoren som sykehusdirektør ved Oppland sentralsykehus, før han senere ble divisjonsdirektør i Sykehuset Innlandet HF.

I 2003 begynte han som assisterende fylkesmann i Oppland. Fra 2010 har han vært assisterende fylkesmann/statsforvalter i Aust-Agder og deretter i det sammenslåtte Agder-embetet frem til april 2026.

Han arbeider nå med ansvar for gjennomføring og tilrettelegging av Agders totalberedskapskurs for toppledere, i tillegg til å støtte Statsforvalterens oppdrag innen samfunnssikkerhet og beredskap.

Knut Berg has a broad and varied background from the Norwegian Armed Forces, where he completed Staff College I and II as well as the Executive Course at the Norwegian Defence University College. In 2000, he concluded his military career and transitioned to the health sector as Director of Oppland Central Hospital, before later becoming Division Director at Sykehuset Innlandet HF.

In 2003, he began serving as Deputy County Governor of Oppland. Since 2010, he has held the position of Deputy County Governor in Aust-Agder, and subsequently in the merged Agder County Governor’s office, up until April 2026.

He is now responsible for the implementation and facilitation of Agder’s Total Preparedness Course for senior executives, in addition to supporting the County Governor’s mission within civil protection and emergency preparedness.

Svindseth har tidligere 18 års operativ tjeneste i Hærens Samband og 7 år som brannsjef i Østre Agder brannvesen, før stilling som distriktssjef i Sivilforsvaret. 

Utdannet med mastergrad fra universitetet i Tromsø, Krigsskole I og Krigsskole II samt lederutdanning på Norges brannskole.

Tom Smellror jobber som konsulent gjennom firmaet CMConsulting. Han er en pensjonert oberst fra Luftforsvaret hvor han har tjenestegjort i mer enn 40 år, sist som seksjonsleder for NATOs internasjonale militære stab, Militær samarbeidsseksjon - øst.

Han har lang erfaring fra operativ virksomhet i Luftforsvaret. Smellror har i de første 20 år av sin karriere vært knyttet til P-3 Orion og aktiviteter knyttet til dette flyet. Tjenesten har inkludert stillinger som skvadronsjef, gruppesjef og stasjonssjef.

I en beordring til NATOs atlanterhavskommando (SACLANT) i Norfolk, Virginia, var Smellror atlanterhavskommandoens representant i arbeidet med å utvikle krisehåndteringsøvelser for NATOs råd. Han var dermed også SACLANTs representant i "Council Operations and Exercises Committy” (COEC) når krisehåndteringsøvelser var på agendaen. 

Tilbake til Norge fikk Smellror ansvaret for situasjonssenteret i Forsvarsdepartementet. I denne kapasiteten var han også ansvarlig for krisehåndteringsøvelser og var ved flere anledninger departementsrådens rådgiver i Regjeringens kriseråd. Han var også medlem av det regjeringsoppnevnte Sikkerhetsrådet for luftfarten og formann i NORDCAPS, et nordisk operativt forsvarssamarbeid.

Etter tjenesten i Forsvarsdepartementet gikk veien videre til Forsvarets operative hovedkvarter hvor operativ flyvirksomhet og drift av hovedkvarteret var hovedfokusområder. 

Smellror ble videre beordret til NATOs hovedkvarter i Brussel hvor han var ansvarlig for militært samarbeid med bl.a. Russland og Ukraina. I den kapasiteten var han også medlem av flere av NATOs komiteer.

Smellror har flere nasjonale og internasjonale utmerkelser og har tjenestegjort i Afghanistan og Irak.

Tom Smellror works as a consultant through the company CMConsulting. He is a retired colonel from the Air Force, where he served for more than 40 years, most recently as the section leader for NATO's international military staff, Military Cooperation Section - East. 

He has extensive experience from operational activities in the Air Force. Smellror spent the first 20 years of his career associated with the P-3 Orion and activities related to this aircraft. His service included positions as squadron commander, group commander, and station commander. 

During an assignment to NATO's Atlantic Command (SACLANT) in Norfolk, Virginia, Smellror was the Atlantic Command's representative in the work of developing crisis management exercises for NATO's council. He was also SACLANT's representative in the "Council Operations and Exercises Committee" (COEC) when crisis management exercises were on the agenda. 

Back in Norway, Smellror was responsible for the situation center in the Ministry of Defense. In this capacity, he was also responsible for crisis management exercises and was on several occasions the advisor to the Secretary General in the Government's Cr isis Council. He was also a member of the government-appointed Security Council for aviation and chairman of NORDCAPS, a Nordic operational defense cooperation. 

After his service in the Ministry of Defense, he moved on to the Armed Forces' operational headquarters, where operational aviation activities and the operation of the headquarters were the focus areas. 

Smellror was later assigned to NATO's headquarters in Brussels, where he was responsible for military cooperation with, among others, Russia and Ukraine. In this capacity, he was also a member of several of NATO's committees.

Smellror has received several national and international awards and has served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Arne Thomassen (f. 1959) er fylkesordfører i Agder og representerer Høyre. Han ble valgt som den første fylkesordføreren for det sammenslåtte Agder fylke i 2019 og gjenvalgt etter konstitueringen av fylkestinget i 2023. Før dette var han ordfører i Lillesand i 16 år, fra 2003 til 2019.

Han har lang politisk erfaring fra både lokal- og regionalnivå, blant annet som vararepresentant til Stortinget i tre perioder og som leder i Aust-Agder Høyre. Han har også hatt sentrale verv i KS og Høyres sentralstyre.

Thomassen er rørleggermester av faglig bakgrunn og har tidligere vært direktør for en teknisk bedrift. Som fylkesordfører arbeider han særlig med regional utvikling, næringsliv, samferdsel og samarbeid på tvers av kommuner og sektorer.

Arne Thomassen (born 1959) is the County Mayor of Agder, representing the Conservative Party. He became the first County Mayor of the newly merged Agder County in 2019 and was re-elected following the 2023 county council constitution. Before that, he served as Mayor of Lillesand for 16 years, from 2003 to 2019.

He has extensive political experience at both local and regional levels, including several terms as Deputy Member of the Norwegian Parliament and leadership roles within the Conservative Party, such as head of Aust-Agder Conservatives and member of the party’s central board.

Thomassen is a certified master plumber and has previously worked as a director in a technical company. As County Mayor, he focuses on regional development, business growth, infrastructure, and strengthening cooperation across municipalities and sectors.

Tidl. ambassadør Torbjørn Frøysnes er selvstendig næringsdrivende som rådgiver i samfunns- og næringslivsspørsmål, herunder for høynivåkonferanser og -møter. Han har tjenestegjort i den norske utenrikstjenesten i mer enn 40 år, og herunder vært Statssekretær i Utenriksdepartementet og sjef for utenriksministerens Sekretariat. Han var Norges ambassadør til Europarådet i Strasbourg 2003-2008 og EU-ambassadør for Europarådet i Brussel 2008-2017. Han var ambassadør og norsk sjefforhandler for handel med tjenester (GATS) i Verdens Handelsorganisasjon (WTO) 1999-2003, Minister ved ambassaden i Bonn 1995-1999 og arbeidet i mange år med sikkerhets- og samarbeidsspørsmål i øst-vestforhandlingene i KSSE.

Frøysnes har vært adm.dir. i norsk reiselivs markedsføringsorgan NORTRA, styreformann i Nordisk Turistråd og vise-president i Den europeiske reiselivskommisjonen (ETC). Han var norsk styrerepresentant i Den europeiske Travunioen (UET, Paris), styremedlem i det Norske Travselskap og i Norsk Rikstoto.

Han har skrevet artikler om politikk, diplomati, internasjonale spørsmål, travsport og spillspørsmål og medvirket i offentlige debatter og konferansevirksomhet. 

Ambassador (ret) Torbjørn Frøysnes is working as a consultant for public affairs, including programs for high-level conferances. He is a retired Ambassador who served for more than 40 years in the Norwegian diplomacy, last as Norway’s Ambassador to the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, 2003-2008 and Ambassador of the Council of Europe to the EU in Brussels, 2008-2017.

He is a former Deputy Foreign Minister of Norway and has been Chief of Cabinet to the Foreign Minister. He served as Norway’s Chief Negotiator and Ambassador for Trade in Services in the World Trade Organisation (WTO), as Deputy Director General in the Trade Department of the MFA and has been a long-time negotiator on Security and Arms control in East-West relations. 

He has been the CEO of the Norwegian Tourist Board, Chairman of the Nordic Tourist Board and Vice President of the European Travel Commission (ETC). 

He has been member of the Board of the European Trotting Union (UET, Paris), of the National Trotting Association (DNT) of Norway and of Norsk Rikstoto, the Norwegian Betting Company for Horse Racing. 

He has written articles on politics, diplomacy, international affairs, horse racing and betting issues, and participated frequently in public debates and news.

Berit Lindeman er generalsekretær i Den norske Helsingforskomité.

Hun leder organisasjonen og er øverste ansvarlige for Helsingforskomiteens virksomhet.

Gjennom mer enn 20 år har hun jobbet med demokratibygging og menneskerettighetsspørsmål, i første rekke i Russland, Øst-Europa og Sentral-Asia, men også gjennom oppdrag i Asia og Afrika. Hun har bred erfaring med internasjonal valgobservasjon og som valgekspert, og brenner for den enkeltes rett til medbestemmelse og ser verdien av frie og rettferdige valg.

Berit har jobbet med de fleste av Helsingforskomiteens kjerneland. Hun har i tillegg vært deres kommunikasjonssjef i mange år, og ble utnevnt til generalsekretær fra stillingen som fagsjef.

«Menneskerettighetene i Europa er i krise, og Russlands invasjon av Ukraina gjør vårt arbeid utfordrende, men desto viktigere og enda mer relevant. Gjennom årene har jeg opplevd at mange av mine venner og kolleger, i land som Russland, Hviterussland, Aserbajdsjan og andre steder, har blitt trakassert, fengslet og tvunget i eksil for å gjøre en jobb som ligner veldig på min. Berit er utdannet jurist med spesialfag fremmedrett, og har i tillegg lært seg russisk og fransk. Hun har bodd lange perioder i Ukraina, Frankrike og Russland. Et tre år langt sabbatsår tilbrakte hun i Mali, Vest-Afrika.

Berit is Secretary General at the Norwegian Helsinki Committee.

She is primarily responsible for the committee’s work on human rights in Europe.

For more than 20 years, Berit has worked on democracy building and human rights issues, primarily in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, but also through assignments in Asia and Africa. She has extensive experience with international election observation and as an election expert and is passionate about the individual’s right to co-determination and sees the value of free and fair elections.

Berit has worked with most of the Helsinki Committee’s core countries, but has generally been responsible for Azerbaijan and Belarus. She has also been their communications manager for many years.

“Over the years, I have experienced that many of my friends and colleagues, in countries such as Belarus, Azerbaijan and elsewhere, have been harassed, imprisoned and forced into exile to do a job very similar to mine. It fills me with a sense of duty, a need to show solidarity, and at the same time a deep gratitude for how well Norwegian democracy works", she says.

Berit has a law degree, specializes in foreign law, and has also learned Russian and French. She has lived for long periods in Ukraine, France and in Russia. She recently spent a three-year sabbatical year in Mali, West Africa.

Trond Backer er utdannet siviløkonom og har lang og bred ledererfaring fra både organisasjons- og næringslivet, med solid forankring på Sørlandet og i Oslo. Han er i dag administrerende direktør i Næringsforeningen i Kristiansandsregionen og leder av Næringsalliansen i Agder, hvor han arbeider strategisk med samspill mellom næringsliv, offentlig sektor og akademia for å styrke regional verdiskaping og konkurransekraft.

Trond Backer holds a degree in Business Administration and has extensive leadership experience from both the business sector and non-profit organizations, with a strong professional background from Agder and Oslo. Knut Mjåland er administrerende direktør i GCE NODE og har omfattende ledererfaring fra den globale energisektoren samt høyteknologisk materialer- og komposittindustri. Han har tidligere jobbet i 15 år som Senior Vice President i MHWirth (nå HMH), og i sju år som administrerende direktør i Mandals AS, et Michelin-eid selskap med internasjonal anerkjennelse for mobil infrastruktur i verdensklasse.
Han startet sin karriere som yrkesoffiser i Luftforsvaret, hvor han tjenestegjorde i åtte år ved flere sentrale flystasjoner i Norge.

Knut Mjåland is the CEO of GCE NODE and has extensive senior management experience from the global energy sector and the high tech materials and composites industry. He previously served for 15 years as Senior Vice President at MHWirth (now HMH) and for seven years as CEO of Mandals AS, a Michelin owned company recognized internationally for its world class mobile infrastructure. 
He began his career as a professional officer in the Royal Norwegian Air Force, serving for eight years at several key air stations across Norway.

He is educated as a Technical Engineer from the Royal Air Force Technical College in Kristiansand and holds a degree in Business Economics and Marketing from Harstad University College. Throughout his career, Mjåland has been a key bridge builder between industry, research, government, and international stakeholders, with a strong focus on industrial security, supply chain resilience, and strategic technology development.

Stephen Sayfritz er en erfaren innovasjonsleder med mer enn to tiår bak seg i skjæringspunktet mellom industri og forskning. Siden september 2025 har han vært Research, Development & Innovation Manager i GCE NODE, hvor han leder tverrsektorielle samarbeid og forsknings- og innovasjonsinitiativ.

Sayfritz har tidligere hatt ledende roller i Morrow Batteries, blant annet som Vice President Supply Chain og VP Battery Materials. Han har også ledet felles forskningsprogrammer i Eyde-klyngen og arbeidet som seniorforsker ved Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA).

Stephen Sayfritz is an accomplished innovation leader with more than two decades of experience at the intersection of industry and research. Since September 2025 he has served as Research, Development & Innovation Manager at GCE NODE, where he spearheads cross sector collaboration and R&D initiatives. Sayfritz previously held senior roles at Morrow Batteries, including Vice President Supply Chain and VP Battery Materials, led joint research programmes at Eyde Cluster, and worked as a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA). 

He holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Oslo and has overseen complex innovation projects such as the Battery Coast initiative, the National IOR Centre of Norway and the “Battery Norway” platform.

Torleiv Opland tok 1. april 2025 over som leder i FSi. Før det var han over 20 år i Utenriksdepartementet. 

I perioden 2020 til 2024 var han nestleder ved ambassaden i Washington D.C. og før det avdelingsdirektør for sikkerhetspolitikk og Nord-Amerika i Utenriksdepartementet. 

I 2014 ledet han overgangsstaben til da påtroppende generalsekretær i NATO, Jens Stoltenberg. 

Han har også bred erfaring fra andre stillinger i UD, bl.a. som underdirektør, seniorrådgiver og ambassadesekretær ved ambassaden i Ankara og NATO-delegasjonen i Brussel. 

I perioden 2001-2005 tjenestegjorde han som major/jurist i Forsvarssektoren, bl.a. i Kosovo, Forsvarsstaben og Forsvarsdepartementet.

Stian Haugen, born in 1976, is a Norwegian citizen and serves as Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Kitron. He is responsible for technology, investments, integrations, harmonization, and cost management (OPEX). Dag Wikøren er Daglig Leder for Saab Technologies Norway AS samtidig som han er Country manager for Saab AB sin portefølje i Norge. Han har 25 års erfaring i Saab med internasjonal erfaring som ansvarlig for Saabs forretninger mot NATO samt Regionsansvarlig for Sentral- og Øst-Europa.

Han er utdannet i det norske forsvar som artillerioffiser og forlot forsvaret i 2000.

I ledig tid er han involvert i lokal politikk og sitter som kommunestyremedlem i Frogn kommune.

Dag Wikøren is Managing Director for Saab Technologies Norway AS at the same time as he is Country Manager Norway for all Saab AB solutions in Norway. He has 25 years of experience from Saab with international experience as responsible for Saabs business towards NATO and Regional head for all business in Central and Eastern Europe.

He is educated in the Norwegian Armed forces as an artillery officer and left the Army in 2000.

In the spare time he is involved in municipal politics and serves as a member in Frogn County Council.

The family cottage is at Langenesøyi in Bygland.

Roy Werner Russ er Regional Director for Business Development, Salg Marked og myndighetskontakt ved BAE Systems Hägglunds AB, en ledende global leverandør av avanserte militære kjøretøysystemer. Roy Werner Russ is a Regional Director for Business Development & International Business Winning at BAE Systems Hägglunds AB, a leading global provider of advanced military vehicle systems. In this role, he drives international partnerships, customer engagement, and strategic program development across multiple defence markets. His work includes leading key collaboration initiatives with national defence agencies and industry partners, particularly in the Nordic region.

Russ has been deeply involved in major armored vehicle programs, including the delivery and international cooperation efforts surrounding the CV90 combat vehicle platform. His leadership has been highlighted through engagements with the Norwegian Armed Forces and industrial partners during significant vehicle delivery and modernization projects. 

Roy Werner Russ is recognized as a key industry contact within the Norwegian Defence and Security Industries Association (FSI), where he represents BAE Systems Hägglunds in matters related to defence industry cooperation, innovation, and cross border technology development. 

In addition to his strategic role at BAE Systems Hägglunds, Russ is formally registered alumni of ASERA (Session Européenne des Responsables d’Armement). He also serves as Chairperson of the Gjøvik Seilforening, illustrating his extended involvement in community and organizational leadership.

Dr. Liliia Honcharevych var Chargé d’Affaires ved Ukrainas ambassade i Oslo 2022-23. 

Hun leder nå Programrådet for Carpatian Sea Democracy Week (CSDW), som er en årlig konferanse om sikkerhet og demokrati i Ukraina, etter mønster bl. a. av Arendalsuka. Hun har en rekke funksjoner og verv innenfor samarbeidet med Ukraina når det kommer til bistand til forsvaret av landet, og i regionale organisasjoner.
