12. Badet (bygd ca. 1918)

Kvar mann hadde sitt nettingskap. Det var fleire dusjar. Bygdas eldste kloakk-kum låg nedafor vegen.

Tidlegare gjekk gruvearbeidarane svarte og skitne heim. Nå hengde dei frå seg arbeidstøyet ved gruva. Svovellukta gjekk aldri vekk. Til og med nyvaska tøy lukta svovel lang veg. 

Bath (built about 1918)

Each mine worker had his own wire wardrobe. There were several showers. The community's oldest cesspool was located across the road.

Earlier the workers went home soiled and dirty. Now they could leave their working clothes in their wardrobes and go home clean. The smell of sulphur could not be removed from clothing. Even freshly washed clothing smelled of sulphur from a distance.
