Ore silo (1937)
Earlier there was a storage bin.
The silo was built for storing of ore after a fire in 1937. The concrete work was done in 24 hours. Ore was transported from the mine to the silo on a conveyor belt.
A shorter belt went from the silo to the cone crusher and Reima (the sorting house). Stored ore from the silo was processed at times of breaks in ore mining.
Ore was earlier stored in a wooden storage bin, were the timber were held together by iron rods.
The wooden storage bin was destroyed twice by fire, in 1929 as well as 1937.
