Flotation plant
From 1914 the nickel ore was enriched by flotation.
The ore went first to a coarse crusher, then on to a finer crusher (cone crusher), which crushed it to gravel size.
At the flotation plant the gravel size ore was pulverized to powder in mills. Through a floating process, mixed with chemical additives, copper, nickel and iron ore was then seperated out as a dough-like concentrate.
The concentrate was dried out and transported to the smelting plant in Evje on Langeline cableway. The waste went suspended in water into the sludge pond.
