Water reservoir (from 1930)
The flotation process requiered large amounts of water. The old mine had some small reservoirs with low capacity.
A reservoir was built in Myklåsen, but it did not supply enough water. Raffineringsverket therefor forced a farmer to sell them a marsh located north of the mine to use as reservoir. The marsh was dammed up, and water was pumped in from a nearby stream (Flåtbekken). To obtain enough water, a channel was dug from Lille Åflauvatn towards the stream. Once water was pumped into Lille Åflauvatn from Store Åflauvatn to obtain water in the stream. The reservoir below the mine was so deep that a man drowned in it.
