The big crusher (frå 1929)
“The big crusher” was specially constructed in Sweden, and could crush rocks up to 1 m in diameter. Each part of the crusher weighed 7 tons. 14 trucks were needed to transport the parts from the railroad stop in Kyrkjebygda to the Flåt mine.
The crusher was blown to pieces in 1930 when a 15 kg sack of dynamite fell into it by accident.
