Tramway (from 1884, the old mine)
The tramway was built during the time when the British firm of H. H. Vivian Co. leased the mining operation, from 1884 to 1894. The tramway went along the top of the hill in a westward direction from the old mine, across the road to Flatebygd and through the 38 meter long crushing house. Waste rock was pushed along the tracks in wagons. The tracks were often badly constructed.
This made the pushing very hard, and the wagons were frequently derailed. Today the tramway plateau can be seen on the rock pile behind the foundation of the earlier office building.
