35. Maskinhus - 1916

Stein, dynamitt og folk køyrde i same heis.

Machinery house - 1916 (located at the new vertical shaft)

The vertical shaft lift had two chairs, so that one wagon went up while another went down. The upcoming wagon weighed about 3 tons, and had a speed of 7 min/sec. The lift was driven by a 285 hk electric motor. The lift building was 24 m tall. The lift operator sat inside the building and ran the lift after signals received from the various stations in the mine shaft below. It was 9 stations down the 422 m deep shaft, which goes below sea level. Electrical knocking signals told the operator which station to send the lift to. Ore, dynamite and people rode in the same lift.
